Son Of Getaway Makes The Perfect Start Over Hurdles

Kalkbrenner (5g Getaway - Coillte Alainn, by Oscar) made his first start over hurdles a winning one when striking at Ffos Las on Tuesday.

The gelding had won his sole point-to-point for Jonathan Fogarty at Tattersalls Farm in December and had then finished a promising fourth in an Ayr bumper on his first start for Ben Pauling in April.

Ridden by Ben Jones once again, Kalkbrenner was positioned prominently and took up the lead from two flights out. The pair were a length and three-quarters clear at the line.

Getaway's other promising winners of late include Loughrea four-year-old mares maiden scorer Britway Belle, Tipperary hurdles winner Getaway Beo and the unbeaten Nadia's Boy.

Kalkbrenner was bred by Oliver Loughlin.
