Mes Ailes (5g Wings Of Eagles - Ou Rose, by Whipper) became the latest black-type winner for his sire when landing Listed honours in fine style at Merano on Sunday.

The Jana Novakova-trained five-year-old provided an upset when winning the Premio Azienda di Soggiorno by seven-and-a-half lengths. The contest is traditionally a trial for one of the Grade 1s in Italy at the end of September.

Ridden by Gabriele Agus, the progressive Mes Ailes put in an assured round of jumping in the hurdle contest before showing a potent turn of foot to win in exciting fashion.

The son of Wings Of Eagles was bred by the Bloodstock Agency Limited.
