Well-Supported Son Of Yeats Makes Successful Raid

Emerald Poet (5g Yeats – Levmoss Lady, by Scorpion) justified strong market support to make a winning debut in a Class 2 bumper at Plumpton on Easter Monday.

Willie Mullins’ raider was sent off a short-priced favourite under Harry Cobden and raced prominently throughout the two-mile-and-one-furlong contest. Eleanor Manning’s homebred led before two furlongs out and was ridden a furlong later. Soon clear with one other rival, he dug deep to prevail by a length on the line, with another seven lengths back to the third horse.

The promising son of Yeats becomes the first winner out of his unraced dam.
