Yeats Gelding Impresses With Wide-Margin Bumper Win

William Yeats (4g Yeats - Dusky Legend, by Midnight Legend) got off the mark with an impressive display in the concluding bumper at Sedgefield on Monday.

The Rebecca Menzies-trained gelding had finished second over course and distance on his rules debut last month and went one better with a seven-and-a-half-length success under Nathan Moscrop.

Out of a Grade 2-placed half-sister to Grade 1-winning hurdler and Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up Santini, William Yeats had also finished second in his sole point-to-point for Edward Walker at Woodford in April.
