Wings Of Eagles Four-Year-Old Rallies For Debut Victory
Colin Bowe’s success with Beeches Stud sire Wings Of Eagles continued on Sunday when Daylatedollarshort (4g Wings Of Eagles – Hannah Mori, by Mahler) made a winning debut in the four-year-old maiden at Loughrea.
Colin Bowe’s newcomer raced close to the pace under Bertie Finn and took the lead approaching the run-in. The favourite threw down a challenge at the final fence, but Daylatedollarshort rallied gamely to prevail by a neck, the pair finishing 25 lengths clear of their rivals.
The win came 10 days after Colin Bowe sold Frost Moon (Wings Of Eagles) for €155,000. The handler also trains black-type hurdler The Great Nudie (Wings Of Eagles). His latest winner was bred by James D. Leahy.
