$275,000 Colts Leads Way for Jack Christopher at Fasig-Tipton October

A $275,000 colt led the way for Jack Christopher at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale when selling in the final session.

Offered by Hunter Valley Farm, the February-born colt was purchased by Novogratz Racing Stable as the eighth most expensive colt of the last session. Bred by Nancy Shuford and selling for $200,000 at Keeneland November last year, he is the first foal out of Frost Lake.

That mare is a half-sister to seven winners out of Gr.3 winner Lakenheath, who has produced Gr.3 winner Decorated Soldier, stakes winner and Gr.1 placed The Truth or Else, and stakes placed Fighter Wing to lead the way. Fighter Wing went on to produce Gr.3 winner Class Ceiling with another daughter producing the stakes winner and Gr.3 placed duo of Forever Liesl and Sound Machine. Another daughter produced Gr.3 placed Frontier Market. This is also the family of Gr.1 placed Perpetual Light.

Arroyo Bloodstock purchased a colt out of Forced Family Fun for $270,000 from Taylor Made Sales.

Bred by Fred Hertich and Robert Tribbett, the colt’s only sibling to race is the stakes placed Walley World with her second foal of racing age being a juvenile who sold for $130,000 last year. This colt’s Uncle Mo dam is a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Gr.2 placed Cat Burglar and the stakes placed Aljalela. Their dam is a half-sister to Gr.3 winner Away, who produced Gr.2 winner and Gr.1 placed Eight Belles among three stakes performers with two of her daughters also producing stakes winners.

Another one of Be My Prospect’s siblings is the stakes winning Rich Find, who produced stakes winner Heavenly Hellos and Gr.1 placed Broken Spell.

Jack Christopher also saw his 18 yearlings sell for $245,000, $210,000, $160,000, etc. at this sale with a $101,139 average.
