$370,000 Colt for Practical Joke at OBS March

A colt by Practical Joke went home with Krattiger Racing at the OBS March 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale this week when Destin Heath signed the $370,000 ticket on behalf of his new owners.

Offered by SBM Training and Sales, the colt registered a :9.4 breeze at the Under Tack Show to showcase his skills. Bred by Henley Farms, it was the first time he’d been through the sales ring.

He is the second foal out of Bernardini mare So Jaded, who is a half-sister to the dam of stakes placed Lt. Norm and out of Grade II placed Maristar.

Maristar is one of three stakes performers out of champion Jewel Princess, who also produced stakes winner One Nice Cat and Grade III-placed Home Court. Home Court kept the stakes producing tradition alive as the dam of Grade I winner Dancing Rags, Grade II winner Coup de Grace and the dams of two other stakes winners. Two other Jewel Princess daughters also produced stakes winners.

Practical Joke is having another standout year in 2025 with five stakes winners and 14 stakes performers – both ranking in the top three among all North American sires.
