$500,000 Colt Leads Practical Joke Midlantic Offerings
The lead sire in North America by stakes winners alongside his sire, it wasn’t a surprise to see Practical Joke’s newest crop of juveniles in high demand at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Old Sale, led by a $500,000 colt.
Purchased by Case Clay Thoroughbred Management from Top Line Sales, he was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and was a $265,000 yearling. The colt is out of Uncle Mo’s Honor and Praise, whose first foal to race was a winner.
The mare is a half-sister to Grade III winner and Grade II placed Barbados and out of the stakes winning Northern Station.
This is the extended family of champion Rainbow View and Grade I winners Raven’s Pass and No Matter What with three of the mares named on his page either winning stakes or producing stakes winners.
Practical Joke also saw his juveniles sell for $350,000 and $285,000 at the sale with an average of $240,800 and median of $285,000 for five sold. He also saw one bring €650,000 from Godophin at the Arqana May Breeze Up Sale and week and a half ago.
