Eight Yearlings For Jack Christopher at Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred
Eight yearlings from the first crop of popular three-time winner Jack Christopher will go through the ring during this week’s Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale.
The first through the ring is Hip 330, a filly sold by Vinery Sales on behalf of Rockridge Stud and Ascendant Farms.
The chestnut is out of seven-time stakes winner Ours to Run, who won 12 races overall and was Grade 2 placed. The mare’s first foal to race gave their dam her first winner to help her begin to follow in in her dam’s footsteps with that mare producing four winners from four to race. Brown Eyed Baby’s runners also include eight-time winner Half Again, with that one still an active runner in 2025.
Brown Eyed Baby is a half-sister to the stakes placed More Than Beauty, who also produced the stakes placed More Graytful. Overall, the four-time winning Brown Eyed Baby is one of six winners from six to run out of stakes winner Brown Eyed Beauty. That mare is one of six stakes performers from 12 winners out of Stephanie Brown Eyes.
The first foal out of Union Rags mare Southern Charm sells as Hip 383 from Four Star Sales.
A $120,000 Fasig-Tipton November RNA, the colt was bred by Clay Scherer and is out of a half-sister to Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Ice Dancing. Southern Charm was unraced herself, but her stakes winning dam Welcome Dance produced four winners from four to race.
Welcome Dance is out of the successful dam Choreography, who has four stakes performers from six winners. That mare’s other runners include multiple Grade 3 winner Goliad, multiple graded stakes placed Fredericksburg, and Grade 2-placed Line Dancing.
Under this colt’s next dam is this year’s Grade III UAE 2000 Guineas and Grade III Saudi Derby winner Golden Vekoma.
Taylor Made Sales consigns Hip 524, a half-brother to Grade III winner Just Grazed Me.
Bred by The New Hill Farm and sold for $140,000 as a weanling, the colt received an update when his brother won on debut at Hawthorne by 3 ½ lengths on July 3. That took the stakes winning Fairway Road to seven winners from seven to race as just the latest successful broodmare out of Launch Site.
Having three stakes performers outside of Fairway Road, Launch Site has seen a huge update for her family in grandson Obliteration. Considered one of the best 2-year-olds this year, the colt won the Grade III Sanford Stakes and was second in the Grade II Saratoga Special after the catalog was released. His stakes placed dam I’mclassyandsassy has followed in her own dam’s footprints as the dam of five stakes performers with the three stakes winners also including Sassy Beast and Pure Class.
Launch Site is the matriarch of a family that includes 13 stakes performers.
The Lakland Farm-bred Hip 568 consigned by Denali Stud is the first foal out of Camelot’s Idyllic Fortress.
The mare is a half-sister to five winners out of Elbasana, whose other foals have given this page plenty of updates. Idyllic Fortress is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Edelmira, whose runner Emiyn registered another placing after the catalog was released to take his earnings to $223,809.
Meanwhile her sister’s stakes winning Elyiass registered an earnings bump when the catalog came out. Another sister registered her fourth winner when Couer Jaune registered her first victory on July 23.
A half-sister to champion Straight No Chaser is the dam of the Vinery Sales-offered Hip 587.
This Kaz Hill Farm-bred filly is the first foal for three-time winner Lambeau Lady, who is also a half-sister to the stakes winning duo of T Kraft and Hangover Saturday. In all, her dam Margarita Friday has six winners with the non-stakes winning group including six-time winner Sober On Sunday.
Farther down the page are Grade II winners Something Extra, Nicole H, and Gun Song with nine stakes winners and nine other stakes performers included across the four dams.
The sale takes place on Sunday and Monday with a 7p.m. start time on Sunday and noon start time on Monday. You can see the pedigrees of all of Jack Christopher’s yearlings here.
