Godolphin Snaps Up €650,000 Practical Joke Colt at Arqana

A €650,000 colt by Practical Joke was the ninth most expensive offering of the Arqana Breeze Up Sale on Saturday when purchased by Godolphin.

The Ballybush offering is a full brother to Dugat, who was fourth in a Japanese Group III with the duo out of the stakes placed Untraveled. That mare is one of two stakes performers for her own dam alongside the stakes winning Artesian with another half-sister producing a stakes performers and stakes producer as well.

Each of the colt’s first four dams have produced runners who finished in the top four in stakes with the group including Group II winer and Group I placed Green Perfume and Grade II winner Salty Perfume.

This colt was bred by Erv Woolsey and Ralph Kinder and sold at last year’s Fasig-Tipton October sale.

One of the top sires in North America, it’s been a big May already for Practical Joke with the stallion siring two stakes winners last weekend.
