Jack Christopher Colt Fetches $225,000 at Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Yearlings Sale
Jack Christopher’s colt out of Fairway Road was the sire’s leading offering at the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Yearlings Sale when purchased for $225,000 during the second day of selling.
Bought by Robert Lambe from Taylor Made Sales, this was the second time the colt sold for six figures after he brought $140,000 as a weanling when offered by breeder The New Hill Farm. The colt is a half-brother to seven winners from seven to race out of his stakes winning dam, led by Grade III winner Just Grazed Me. That seventh winner came after the catalog was released when his half-sister No Ah A debuted a winner.
Fairway Road is one of five stakes performers out of Launch Site, who has been in the headlines recently.
That mare is the granddam of Grade III winner Obliteration, who is one of eight winners and five stakes performers out of the stakes placed I’mclassyandsassy. I’mclassyandsassy has also produced the stakes winning duo of Sassy Beast and Pure Class. Another one of Fairway Road’s sisters is the dam of stakes winner and Grade II placed Miyaji Taiga with a third producing stakes placed Don’t Miss Out.
Jack Christopher saw his yearlings at this sale bring $225,000, $125,000, $100,000, $100,000, etc. with an average of $106,667.
