Mischievous Gal Secures First Stakes Victory at Oaklawn

It was a third victory of the year for Mischievous Gal (5m Practical Joke x Enough, by Arch) on Thursday with a win in the Majestic Overnight Stakes at Oaklawn Park.

Looking for her first stakes victory in her second stakes attempt in the six-furlong dirt race, she went off as the second choice. Breaking from an outside gate gave Mischievous Gal the chance to race in the clear on the outside just a few lengths off the leaders.

She mounted her challenge late in the turn, pouring on the pressure on the front duo. Mischievous Gal dueled throughout the stretch and took over the lead late before easing to a half-length victory.

Trained by Matt Williams for Chris Duggan, Mischievous Gal is the winner of nine wins from 20 starts with three other top three finishes for $415,185 in earnings.

The Lynch Bages-bred is one of two foals out of Arch mare Enough. That mare is a half-sister to the stakes winning duo of Plenty of Vision and Plethora in addition to the multiple stakes placed Congo.

Enough has a 3-year-old Tiz The Law colt named Tiz Freedom as well.

Practical Joke is the sire of eight stakes winners and 21 stakes performers, ranking him in the top three among all North American sires in both categories.
