Practical Joke Juveniles Shine at OBS April

Mahmud Mouni was responsible for the winning bid on a $350,000 Practical Joke juvenile at the OBS Spring 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale to lead the way for the stallion’s offerings during the four-day sale.

Offered by Harris Training Center and out of the mare Woke Up To Aces, the colt bred by Repole Stables and Taylor Made Stallions is the first foal out of his multiple winning dam. That mare is a half-sister to Grade III placed Lily Pod and stakes placed Holiday Bonus. Lily Pod is also the dam of the stakes placed She’s Got a Way.

There is stakes form all over this page with others with blacktype including Grade III winner Blind Date, Grade II winner Olivia Darling, and Grade I-placed Commandperformance among the 15 stakes performers named under his Grade II winning third dam Snit.

A Pick View-consigned filly out of Conway Two Step was the highest priced Practical Joke filly when she sold for $300,000 to Legion Bloodstock.

Bred by Loren Nichols, she is a three-quarter sister to the Grade III winner Naughty Gal and four other winners out of her stakes winning dam. This is a stacked family with the filly’s multiple stakes winning granddam Nancy’s Glitter also producing the stakes placed Jane’s Kid and stakes placed Glittering Tax.

Glittering Tax went on to produce three-time Grade I winner Miss Temple City, Grade III winner Pricedtoperfection, stakes winner Miss Mosaic, and stakes placed Paganol from her eight winners.

Practical Joke has proven to be a top young sire year in and year out and is third among all North American sires by stakes winners in 2025 with seven with his 19 stakes performers – which is good enough for second among all North American sires behind only his sire.
