125,000gns Blackbeard Colt Proves Popular At Tattersalls
A well-related colt from the first crop of champion two-year-old Blackbeard sold to SackvilleDonald and Harry Charlton for 125,000gns at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale on Monday.
Consigned by Ballyhimikin Stud, the April-born bay is out of the Group 2-winning and Group 1-placed Pollyana, making him a half-brother to last year’s Listed Flying Scotsman Stakes scorer Benevento (by Wootton Bassett).
The page also includes Group 2 Sandown Mile winner and Group 1 Champion Stakes runner-up Rob Roy.
A dual Group 1-winning son of No Nay Never, Blackbeard’s first-crop yearlings have been warmly received, selling for prices of up to 500,000gns, 450,000gns and 300,000gns.
