Blackbeard’s First Crop Head To Tattersalls Books 2 and 3

No Nay Never’s champion two-year-old Blackbeard is set to be well-represented at next week’s Tattersalls Book 2 and 3 sales.

Hillwood Stud consigns a half-brother to the Group 3-placed Abrantes who hails from the family of Queen Elizabeth II Stakes scorer Bayside Boy, while Croom House Stud’s filly arrives at Park Paddocks with a black-type update.

The chestnut is a half-sister to this year’s Group 3 Albany Stakes runner-up Awaken, while their dam is an Oasis Dream half-sister to multiple Group 1 scorer Twice Over and from the Juddmonte family of Group 1 scorers Passage Of Time and Timepiece. Another member of the family, Cosmic Year, was second in this season’s Irish 2,000 Guineas.

Another well-bred offering for Blackbeard is a three-parts brother to the Listed-placed Bellissime, consigned by Baroda Stud. The colt’s family includes champion sprinter Royal Applause and Nunthorpe scorer Lyric Fantasy.

The Castlebridge Consignment’s colt is out of the Group-winning Foxtrot Lady and from the famed family of Lochsong, while Killourney Mor’s filly is out of an Australia half-sister to the Group 2-placed Symbolize (by Starspangledbanner).

Ballinafad Stud’s filly can count stakes winners Party Boss and Passion For Life among her relatives, while another highlight is Ballintry Stud’s filly out of a half-sister to Group 2 Coventry Stakes scorer Arizona and American Grade 2 winner Nay Lady Nay, both by No Nay Never.

Grangemore Stud sells a half-brother to the stakes-placed Sharaze from the close family of Group 1 Racing Post Trophy and Group 2 Dante Stakes winner Dilshaan.

Other notable offerings include Mountain View Stud’s colt out of Italian Group 3 winner Silver Step, Lynn Lodge Stud’s colt from the family of Group 3 Cherry Hinton Stakes scorer Applaud and Lodge Park Stud’s colt from the top-class family of New Approach, Was and Park Express.

Chasemore Farm’s filly is out of the Listed-placed The Gold Cheongsam and the page includes Prix de l’Abbaye heroine The Platinum Queen and this year’s Goodwood Group 3 winner Seagulls Eleven.

Among Blackbeard’s Book 3 offerings is Carisbrooke Stud’s colt out of Listed scorer Dancer Cross, while Farranamanagh House Stud sells a filly out of a half-sister to Group 1 Prix Jean Prat winner Aesop’s Fables and from the family of champion Lammtarra.

Glidawn Stud’s filly comes with a number of black-type updates as she is out of a Fastnet Rock mare who hails from the close family of this year's Group 2 Prix d'Aumale winner and Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac runner-up Green Spirit.

Car Colston Hall Stud will sell a half-sister to two winners who comes from the family of the operation’s brilliant foundation mare Wiener Wald. The page also includes Group/Grade 1 winners Tribalist, Brando, Reckless Abandon and Ticker Tape.
