Blackbeard Yearlings On Show At Doncaster

Seven yearlings from the first crop of Cartier Champion 2YO Colt Blackbeard are set to go under the hammer at the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale in Doncaster next week.

Manister House Stud will offer a pair by No Nay Never’s dual Group 1-winning son, namely a colt out of a Galileo half-sister to Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes winner Art Connoisseur and a filly from the family of Grade 1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes scorer Forte Dei Marmi.

Another well-bred offering is Manor Farm’s filly out of Fashion Darling, a half-sister to dual Group 3 winner and black-type producer Majestic Queen.

Clonmult Farm’s colt is in turn a grandson of Group 2 Blandford Stakes winner and Epsom Oaks third Katiyra, herself a half-sister to the Group-winning Kataniya.

The Rockview Stables-consigned filly is out of a three-parts sister to dual Group 2-winning miler and Group 1 Prix de la Foret runner-up Penitent, while Baroda Stud’s colt is from the similarly talented family of Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner Spartacus and Hong Kong champion Blazing Speed.

Wraymount Stud will offer another well-related filly in the half-sister to dual Listed winner and Group 1 Prix Morny fourth Manhattan Jungle. Her page traces back to Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup winner Emaraaty Ana and Group 2 Norfolk Stakes scorer The Ridler.

Blackbeard's first yearlings were well received at the recent Arqana August and V2 sales, making prices of up to €100,000.
