Juvenile Australia Colt Picks Up Maiden Win

Northern Territory (2c Australia - Ghaim, by Nayef) got off the mark with a gritty success at Lyon Parilly on Thursday.

The Nicolas Clement and Frauke Hermans-trained juvenile was held up towards the rear under Stephane Pasquier, but began to make steady headway approaching the home turn.

Northern Territory was switched to the inside rail and showed a fine attitude to stay on and win by a neck at the line.

The colt is another promising two-year-old for Australia, whose fine season has been headlined by dual Derby hero Lambourn, Coronation Stakes winner Cercene and Irish Oaks runner-up Wemightakedlongway.

Northern Territory is a homebred for Noir et Or Elevage SA.
