Well-Bred Sorts Among Blackbeard’s Tattersalls Book 1 Offerings

Nine yearlings from champion two-year-old Blackbeard’s first crop will sell at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale next week.

First up is Newsells Park Stud’s half-sister to this year’s Group 2 Blandford Stakes scorer and Group 1 Prix de l'Opera-bound Barnavara. The filly hails from the family of dual French Classic winner Lope De Vega and German Group 1 victor Danceteria.

Kildaragh Stud offers a filly out of a Galileo daughter of Group 3 scorer Realtra, a half-sister to this year’s Listed Lingfield Derby Trial winner Puppet Master (by Camelot), while Peter Nolan’s filly is a half-sister to Group 3 Amethyst Stakes scorer Zihba. That family contains European champion sprinter Dream Ahead and Group 1 Flying Five Stakes winner Fairyland.

Another well-bred individual to sell is Ballintry Stud’s half-sister to 2025 Group 1 Grosser Preis von Baden victor and 2024 King George and Queen Elizabeth Stakes hero Goliath. It is the further family of Group 1 Italian Oaks scorer Guadalupe and dual German Group 1 winner Getaway.

Glenvale Stud’s colt has had plenty of black-type updates to his page this year as a half-brother to Group 1 Flying Five and Group 2 Sapphire Stakes winner Arizona Blaze. His second dam is the Listed-winning Galileo mare Austen, while further back in the pedigree is Group 1 Irish St Leger winner Flag Of Honour.

In addition, Killourney Mor Farm sells a three-parts brother to the American Grade 2-placed Cathal (by No Nay Never). He is out of a half-sister to Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity winner Tamarando.

There is also Kingsfield Stud’s filly out of the stakes-placed Sa Mola, while Manister House Stud’s colt is a half-brother to Group 2 Railway Stakes and Group 1-placed Beckford from the close family of the top-class middle-distance performer Poet’s Word.

Another sibling to a Group winner being offered is Pier House Stud’s filly out of Galileo mare White Rosa. The dam has already produced Group 3 Prix Sigy scorer and Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes runner-up Marshman, as well as recent debut winner Real American.
