Exciting Son Of Maxios Impresses On Rules Debut

The Burren Man (4g Maxios - Ryme Bere, by Until Sundown) ran out an emphatic winner on his rules debut when striking at Carlisle on Sunday.

Having finished second on his sole point-to-point start at Dromahane in April for Jonathan Fogarty, the son of Maxios transferred to Harry Derham’s yard after selling to the trainer and Ed Bailey for €180,000.

That six-figure price came at the Goffs Punchestown Sale in May.

Ridden on his hurdles debut by Brendan Powell, the odds-on favourite was settled in midfield before making headway from the final flight to land victory by nine and a half lengths.

He was bred by Mill House Stud.
