Four-Year-Old Winner Continues Fine Run For Maxios
Double The Dance (4g Maxios – Drive On Kate, by Milan) continued the smart start made by Maxios’ first Irish crop when running out a game winner of the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Tullaherin on Sunday.
Owned and trained by Ian Power, he was partnered by Shane O’Rourke on his second start and raced in midfield for much of the way. Improving to track the leaders from five out, he led from the second last, but was headed after the final fence. The bay battled back to lead on the line, as the front pair finished seven lengths clear of the remainder.
Bred by Mairead Curran, Double The Dance becomes his sire’s fourth four-year-old winner of the month, the highlight of which was George Mernagh Bumper winner I’m Slippy (Maxios). During that time, Gaelic Warrior (Maxios) has notched two Grade 1 wins over fences.
