Maxios Filly In Command With Listed Cheltenham Bumper Victory
Celestial Tune (4f Maxios - Sylvertune, by Green Tune) continued her progress with a three-length success in the mares’ Listed bumper at Cheltenham on Saturday.
The Tom Cooper-trained four-year-old had run out a nine-and-a-half-length winner of a Listowel bumper in September and she stepped forward again for a first black-type success.
Ridden by Sean Bowen, Celestial Tune made virtually all after coming in for sustained support before the start of the race. The pair came home in comfortable fashion.
Bowen said: “She controlled the race. I’ve been annoyed all day as all the winners had come from the front so I thought ‘right, I’m going to pop out’ and she found plenty.
“She has a very good attitude, that’s what makes her good and how she goes through a race. I could drop my hands and let her do what she thinks is best.
“The way she picked up off the bend was impressive and it’s great to get on board an Irish winner.”
Celestial Tune was bred by Sean Gorman.
