Maxios Filly Makes Smart Start At Auteuil

The future looks bright for Manlaga (3f Maxios – Tornada, by Ballingarry) after she produced a smart debut performance in the valuable Prix Auricula at Auteuil on Saturday.

Settled towards the back of the field in the early stages, the Marcel Rolland-trained bay took closer order from halfway and tracked the leaders into the final flight. Pushed along 110 yards out, she quickened smartly to lead soon after and kept on to score by three lengths under Ludovic Philipperon.

The last three winners of the Prix Auricula have gone on to be Graded performers, including 2022 heroine Kargese, who is now a dual Grade 1 winner.

The Maxios filly is owned by Haras De Sainte Gauburge and was bred by George Clohessy. Her half-brother bySantiago fetched €42,000 at last year’s foal sales.
