Maxios’ First Irish Crop In Demand At Punchestown Sale

Two four-year-olds from the first Irish crop of Castlehyde Stud sire Maxios proved popular at Thursday’s Goffs Punchestown Sale, with both bringing six-figure sums.

Donnchadh Doyle’s promising charge The Burren Man (5g Maxios – Ryme Bere, by Until Sundown) was knocked down to Ed Bailey and Harry Derham for €180,000. The €68,000 store had finished second on debut at Dromahane the previous weekend.

Double The Dance (4g Maxios - Drive On Kate, by Milan) had made it second time lucky when scoring at Tullaherin for Ian Power, who was rewarded with €100,000 from Noel Fehily & David Crosse on Thursday evening.
