Maxios Gelding Remains Unbeaten With First Strike Over Hurdles

I'm Slippy (4g Maxios - Molly's Affair, by King’s Theatre) made an impressive winning start over hurdles when striking at Cork on Sunday.

The Robert Tyner-trained gelding had won the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse on his first start in April and looked an exciting prospect when striding to a five-length victory under Phillip Enright on his second outing.

I'm Slippy took up the lead at the first flight and was three lengths ahead of his rivals with two hurdles to jump. The son of Maxios went readily clear up the run-in to remain unbeaten.

Tyner said: "He’s a nice moving-horse who doesn't hit the ground hard so I said I'd chance him today. He travels sweet, it was a nice introduction and he’s an exciting horse. He was in a hack canter the whole way.

"He had a bit of a dive or something at the second-last but maybe he was lacking company. He loves jumping and had plenty done before he ran in his bumper, as we were biding time by keeping him amused.

"I initially had a plan as he was ready to run four weeks ago but that went out the window and coming here, I hadn't tempted fate by looking at where he goes next."

I'm Slippy was bred by Thomas Stanley.
