Promising Maxios Gelding Lands Four-Year-Old Maiden

Coolmore NH sires dominated Monday’s four-year-old geldings maiden at Dawstown, where Inishbofin (4g Maxios – Kendon, by Yeats) came out on top for Sam Curling and Derek O’Connor.

A promising fourth on debut at Dromahane, the Maxios gelding was sent off favourite on his second start and chased the leaders for much of the way. He had eight lengths to make up three fences from home and made good headway to lead from the second last. Spring Getaway (Getaway) threw down a challenge on the run-in, but Inishbofin dug deep to score by a length and a half, with another two and a half lengths back to Bay Runner (Getaway) in third.

Bred by Declan and Shane Kenneally, Inishbofin hails from the first crop of Maxios conceived at Castlehyde Stud.
